I would use several of the ipx specific monitoring and troubleshooting tools:

Show ipx route
Show ipx servers
Show ipx interfaces brief

Then test PING IPX, etc., traffic can be examined by: Debug ipx packet (use
ACL),
and others: Debug ipx: routing events, ipx sap activity and ipx sap events.
