Working on this lab, I can say that it's a lot more interesting than the
earlier labs.
Anyhow, it also seems to have a lot more errors/ambiguities.
Task 2.1 - I'm guessing that they mean level-1 area.
Task 3.3 - Redistributing OSPF into ISIS as type 2. Does this mean as
external type 2 routes or into a level-2 area?
And I'm stuck on task 3.6 The loopback on R8 is used to source the pings.
Although it is a 15.x.x.x/24, It is being announced through IGRP as a /8.
The other 15.x.x.x/24 networks are not being injected into its routing
table, and I'm guessing that this is because the intermediate link between
the IGRP speaking routers has a different network assigned to it. The
other routers do not have R8's loopback address in their tables either.
This being the case, the default network statement allows the pings
to the other loopbacks to go out. However, replys do not have a route
to the R8 loopback and are dropped.
I have to admit that I cheated and looked at the solutions. To my
surprise, I didn't see the R8 loopback listed in any of the routing
tables provided. Nor did I see any command that would allow for a
different source interface. How is this working?
Thanks,
