Even with the ROMMON and NVRAM from the good router, the 4500M won't boot 90
percent of the time. Most of the time won't boot beyond:

System Bootstrap, Version 5.3(16) [richardd 16], RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
Copyright (c) 1996 by cisco Systems, Inc.

It still has a serious problem. It's NOT the DRAM, Shared memory, flash,
Boot-helper flash, NVRAM, ROMMON, or interface cards.

Can't locate the lithium battery. Thanks for any help in finding it, and
other suggestions.

Subject: Re: HELP! Dead 4500M -- it's the ROMMON

Swapped the 4500M ROMMON (V5.3(16)) with identical ROMMON in my 4700M; now
the 4500M boots beautifully; but the 4700M hangs in same place. Problem
isolated to the ROMMON chip.

Does anyone know where can I purchase a ROMMON chip for 4500M/4700M? This
is my home-lab so I don't have a service contract with cisco.

Thanks.

Swapped the 4500M's NVRAM with 4700M; NVRAM worked fine in 4700M. 4500M
still won't boot beyond:

System Bootstrap, Version 5.3(16) [richardd 16], RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
Copyright (c) 1996 by cisco Systems, Inc.

Anyone know where the lithium battery is, and how to change it? Thanks.
