Hey... That's easy...
Go to your local CompUSA (or decent-sized computer store), and purchase an
Apple modem cable! That'll give you the Din8 to DB-25 cable, and then you
just need a null-modem adapter to get to your PC.
Otherwise, when you plug it in to your network (hub? or port monitor?) you
could always turn on a sniffer and see if it outputs anything telling you
it's IP address.

Subject: OT: setting up Bay's Centillion 100 ATM switch
To all,
Has anyone ever setup a Bay Centillion 100 ATM switch before? I read thru
all the documentation and I believe I need to somehow connect the switch
directly into my PC (serial) for the initial setup, and then use the
SpeedView software - which I have. What I don't have is the Din-8 cable
that goes into the din-8 MCP port on the switch. Hence, I don't know how I
can connect the switch to my PC to even setup an IP address (I could use
SpeedView to configure everything else once I have the IP address). There
is a 10Mb Ethernet port on the left of the Din-8 port.
Question: Can I use this Ethernet port somehow and connect it to a serial
port on my PC? If so, how? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in
advance.
