Hi,

The error message as it indicates is bcoz of
overlapping address which means in use already. Why do
u want to use 225 mask as u are not getting any major
benefit from it ? Anyway

Based on ur mask the 172.16.89.1 255.255.225.0 the
address is on subnet 65.

Ur second address is 172.1.88.1 255.255.224.0 which
leads to following subnets and hosts

172.16.64 with hosts from 172.16.65.1 to 172.16.65.254
172.16.64 with hosts from 172.16.66.1 to 172.16.66.254
and so on and includes hosts from 172.16.95.1 to
172.16.95.254.

If u see it includes 172.1.89.1 which is already used
and "hence overlaps".Thats why it gives u this error
message.

HTH.Let me kniw if i am not clear.someone coreect me
if i am wrong.

Annu.
