Broadcom has just been added to my list of good companies to work for.
I am sure I am not the only person who is happy for you, but at the same
time just the tiniest bit envious of the extremely supportive company,
boss, wife, etc.
Your positive attitude may well be one reason why you have so many
people who have been rooting for you. Best of luck!! And kudos to
Broadcom, too.

Where does one begin to describe the mixed bag of emotions that is the
CCIE?
The fear, the frustration, the awe, the crushing sense of learning so
much
stuff! And finally, the shock of seeing that email come in, opening it
up
and reading those first few lines that mean so much to all of us!
Congratulations! You have passed the CCIE Exam!
I just got the news. CCIE#8588! I am still in shock. I am unworthy!
There is no way I could have reached this goal without a lot of help
from
some key people.
First off, I could not have acheived this without the help of my friend
and
coach, Umer Khan, CCIE #7410. He forced me to think through the issues
and
explained so many difficult topics in very clear terms. You will not
find a
better person out there.
Also, I could not have done it without the extreme support of the
company I
work for, Broadcom Corporation. Not only did they spend a fortune on
buying
and building an almost complete rack, they were willing to pay for my
exam,
travel and expenses. My boss, Ralph, was never more supportive of me
than
when I was studying so hard for this. I know I am lucky to work with
such
great people and for such a great company. I owe them BIG!
I can't forget Bruce Caslow, who taught my ECP-1 class. He is a great
teacher and a very sincere human being. I was lucky to attend his very
last
class for Mentor. Hey Bruce! I did it!
There are many others who helped in their own small way, and not the
least
was my wife. She quietly stood by me and let me have all of those long
nights and weekends to myself. She sacrificied a lot so I could do this
thing, and I love her more than she realizes.
So, to all of you who are on the path, I am hoping your own experiences
will
reward you for the hard work you put in. The old path is complete.
Now, it
is on to the new paths. This is only the beginning....
-Joe
PS- Thanks for the Groupstudy, Paul!
