Hi,
Since the route are learn from OSPF....
You need to verify the RID from OSPF by show ip ospf database. Both RID
must match
below is the extract of Cisco on BGP best path selection...
"Paths marked as "not synchronized" in the show ip bgp <longer-prefixes>
output. If BGP synchronization is enabled, which it is by default in
Cisco
IOS. Software, there must be a match for the prefix in the IP routing
table
in order for an internal (iBGP) path to be considered a valid path.
If the matching route is learned from an OSPF neighbor, its OSPF
router ID must match the BGP router ID of the iBGP neighbor."

Subject: RE: BGP routes.
Parry,
Here's the BGP table and routing table along with the output from one of
the
prefixes not being marked as best.
As you see the route has a next hop of 137.6.2.17 from router with RID
of
137.6.2.2. Both these prefixes are in the main routing table so my
understanding was that the route should be marked best. I know I can
turn
off synchronization and get it to work but I didn't think I had to if
the
next hop was reachable. If I have to do a no sync then fine and my
understanding of the rule is at fault.
Thanks, Stephen.
