Hi all,

here is how to build a 'Loopback-Plug' so a Tokenring
interface on a router will come up without having to
connect it to a MAU or a TR-Switch:

You need:
1 pcs 9-pin male DSUB Connector (preferably with case)
2 pcs resistor 4.7 kilo-Ohm
2 pcs capacitor 100 nanofarad
1 pcs stripe of insulation tape

soldering iron, some solder, calm hands ;)

1. solder one resistor and one capacitor parallel
between pin 6 and pin 9 of the DSUB Connector

2. solder one resistor and one capacitor parallel
between pin 1 and pin 5 of the DSUB Connector

3. put some rubber tape between the capacitor/resistor pack
of step one and the one of step 2 so they cannot get in
   contact with each other.

Done !

Mail me offline if you want to have a jpg with the backview of
the plug. I think groupstudy would remove the attachment from the
mail.

Greetings !
