Hi,
Type E1, E2 OSPF route are learn from external (usually redistributed
via ASBR), so it will not be redistribute into BGP as it is assume that
BGP is exterior gateway protocol(EGP). What it mean is that since it is
redistribute from external, then it should not redistribute to external
again (prevent possible loop).

Subject: Redistribute OSPF into BGP
Can someone elaborate on why OSPF routes redistributed into BGP dont
always
show up..... I accidentally found that a match external in the
redistribute
will cause E2 routes to show up... what about other OSPF route types
(i.e. O
IA).... Why is this so and how do you get around it. I have been told
that
it is to prevent routing loops but I cant find anything definitive on
this.
