Yes, I tried this yesterday. My finding is same as you.
I tried to redistribute the interface into ospf by redis conn subnet, but you
can get nothing in
the ospf database external LSA. If you remove the network from running ospf, th
at works.
Can the same network exist both in internal LSA and external LSA?

Hi all.
I checked a very simple thing (to check) with some interesting results.
Following the discussion on redistribution between OSPF and IGRP and the
changes from 12.0 to 12.1 I set up a single router with both OSPF and IGRP,
I put a loopback interface on the router (200.200.20.1/29) and did NOT
include it in OSPF.
I did a mutual redistribution between IGRP to OSPF on the router,
Sure enough a type 5 lsa showed up in OSPF for the network (as redistributed
from IGRP).
Now comes the interesting part.
including the network in OSPF with
network 200.200.20.1 0.0.0.0 left the external route there
including the network in OSPF with
network 200.200.20.0 0.0.0.255 made it disappear !!!!
so did
network 200.200.20.0 0.0.0.7
My reasoning is:
OSPF now owns the whole 200.200.20.0/24 range and therefore will refuse to
allow an external LSA into this range which it considers its own.
Any comments ?
