I tried the F/R end-to-end keepalive on a 2620 both under the physical
(serial) interface and in the interface-dlci config mode, and the option
wasn't there in either case (IOS 12.1(11)). For a subinterface you don't
need it.

        Thanks,

Subject: frame end-to-end keep (freek)

I was reviewing FREEK again and noticed on a 2600 that if it doesn't
see the keepalives coming in it just shuts down freek on its side and
doesn't down the sub-interface. I checked the docs and at least in the
one I saw it said the 2600 doesn't support freek. I tested it on some
2500's and it worked fine, the sub-interface was shut down as
expected. I was running 12.1 code in both situations.
