RE: Dialer watch question

The whole idea of an ISDN backup link is to keep business going at the lowest p
ossible cost while the primary link is being brought back to operation. One of
the biggest contributors to ISDN bills is routing updates, keepalives etc which
are kept off the link as by design using access-lists. If don't mind the bill
then don't put an access-list against it.

Yes you are technically right, but I believe in practising for the exam, we nee
d to practice logic and strategic thinking rather than all techi stuff.

I have not read through and through what you are doing here but I just thought
an input could help. That is what this site is about.

Apologies in advance if this does not apply to your question.

Thanks

Kenny

Hi Francois,
Refering to the cisco link, i have some question.

The dialer-list states that "access-list 101 deny ospf any any ".
I know that this prevents ospf hellos from bringing up the isdn link.

But with this access-list, how can the ospf routes propagates to the other
router once the backup (isdn) link is used ?

Am i missing some thing ?
tks
