Remote VoIP testing Info

Hello Group,

Just wanted to share a way of testing VoIP using remote racks, and maybe get
some feedback of better ways of doing it, or things I may have missed.

Basically, I looked through the groupstudy archives, and found the 'csim
start' command which allows for call simulation to a destination number (eg.
'csim start 222' to dial the 222 number).

After playing around with the command, I tried to find a way of finding out
that the other end is being called. I tried various debug commands, and show
commands but seems like they all gave you a whole lot of info which you
would have to look really deeply to find out whether it was working.

The most easiest way of determining whether the other side is being called,
is by using the 'sh voice port | i Ring Active Status' command on the
destination. The result is this:

 Ring Active Status is active
 Ring Active Status is inactive

Looks pretty good to me, but maybe I'm missing out on something that the 'sh
voice port' command doesn't give, which might be crucial to satisfying the
requirements of a question in the lab.

Comments please.

Thanks

Albert
