Hi all,
Sorry to interrupt with an OT post, but I've run into an issue and I was
wondering if anyone has seen anything similar out there. We integrated a Cat
6K with an OC12 6101 line card into an exisiting IBM ATM LANE
infrastructure. As soon as the LEC configured on the 6101 joined the
existing ELAN, the MSS's (roughly equivalent to an ATM MSFC) in the IBM
switched crased and rebooted. TAC says they have never seen this behavior
before, and there is nothing a LEC can generate that would cause this. If
anyone has ever seen any behavior similar to this, I would greatly
appreciate the feedback and any known resolution. Thanks, and now back to
CCIE study :)

Subject: RE: Merge ISDN Simulator Problem
I have a Merge 2000AF has been real good once in awhile I have small issues
but nothing big. It sounds like you have PAW2000 set up and are configuring
the emulator. I have always left the spids to the defaults and has worked
fine. If you want send me what you have configured etc.. and I'll match it
against mine . Have you left the default spids or have you configured your
own?

Subject: Merge ISDN Simulator Problem
Anyone out there have any experience with a Merge 2000 ISDN simulator. I've
been banging my head against the wall for two days trying to get this thing
to talk with my 2520 and 2621. It seems that it rejects the spids that I
code into the router based upon the info supplied by Merge. The catch is on
a few occasions, I've been able to make a successful call after pulling the
Cat5 and quickly reconnecting it (the SPIDS suddenly become valid for no
apparent reason!). The router config itself stays the same. I've tried
everything, multilink, no multilink, one SPID vs. two SPIDS.... I've tried
National ISDN, AT&T, and Nortel DMS-100 config options on the Merge itself.
None of them seem to work properly. Perhaps I am missing something in the
Merge configuration, a little secret of sorts?
Rather than going further into details now, let me know if anyone out there
has any experience, and then I'll provide greater config info.
Thanks again! I need to sleep tonight!!!!
