I'm using 1 cisco router with 2 ethernet interfaces to
connect to my provider. I configured the outside
interface as DHCP client, NAT overload to the DHCP
address to go out to the internet (what automatically
blocks any incoming traffic originated from the
outside) and I have a static NAT from the DHCP address
to the loopback address.
I connected the aux port of this router to the
access-server console port with a rollover cable so,
from work, I telnet to the DHCP address port 2065
(reverse telnet port for the 2621 aux port). I like
this aproach cause the aux port works as a DMZ with
only the port 2065 opened, so you can access your lab
without opening your inside network.
To further protect, allow only the range of ip
addresses of your company to have access to your DHCP
address. If you want more detailed information I can
send you my config.
Regards,
Phil.
