I have a Linksys that I configured to port-forward Telnet to the terminal serve
r in my rack. The challenge was to somehow learn what the Linksys' outside DHCP
-assigned IP address is on any given day.

The solution I implemented uses a pair of freeware programs that run from the c
ommand line--one to get the Linksys' status page via HTTP and the other to emai
l the page to me via SMTP. I combined the programs into a bat file that I launc
h daily using the W2K scheduler.

I don't remember the names of the programs off the top of my head, but if this
sounds like it could work for you, let me know and I'll find out when I get bac
k home tomorrow evening.

Regards,

Mas Kato
