Hi,

Cisco IOS command reference lists the following definition for the '.'
character:

'...matches any entered digit (this character is used as a wildcard)...'

For example, you can't use .123 to match 0123, 1123, 2123, 3123 and so on.
If you want to match a specific number of digits I use the following:

E.g. match 3xxxx (must be five digits)

dial-peer 3 voice pots
 destination-pattern 3[0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]

Ugly, but IOS doesn't use the 'x' character like Cisco CallManager...
