The supervisor modules have to be the same model and code level. True for
5000-6500.

I have a slightly off topic question regarding redundant supervisor
modules in the 5000 and 6000 Catalyst switches.
Do they have to be the same type of supervisor or can you mix and match
them.
Can you have a Supervisor II and a Supervisor IIIG, or something like
that, running in redundant mode on a switch.
If yes or no does this apply to the 5000 and 6000 series.
I can't find out from CCO if they have to be the same.
