IMHO YES! If there were no reference material available or if the reference
material did not contain the answer to this question, I might agree that
this by itself should not be a disqualifier. But remember, this is not just
a test over memorized data, Cisco wants to know if you can work through a
problem (and do so quickly) even if you have never seen it before. This is
what sets CCIE certification apart from other industry certs. Many folks
can memorize data and commands, not as many can solve complex problems. I
suspect that if you could get CCIE certified by memorizing commands most of
us would not think that it was worth pursuing because everyone would have
one.
