If I have a 2948G L3 with a 2620 (router on stick, 2620 has ACLs), and I
have 4 bridge-groups (10, 20,30,and 40), will the BVI interfaces on the
2948G L3 pass the subnets to each other. For ex. 10.4.1.2 a workstation in
Vlan 40 would come in the switch on Fa0/1 interface (Bridge-group 40), go to
the int BVI40, address 10.4.1.1 and then go to int BVI10 (ip add 10.1.1.1)
in order to get to 10.1.1.3, a workstation on Vlan 10 (bridge-group 10). Or
would it go to the router to get to the different subnet, bridge-group? None
of the 48 interfaces on the L3 switch have ip addresses, but the do have the
different bridge-group commands. The interface from the G L3 to the router
is a trunk port without IPs on it. So I am not sure if the workstation on
Vlan 40 will come in the Fa0/1 and be bridged to the Fa0/20 interface to
Vlan 10 because no IP addresses are on the interface or it will come in
Fa0/10 go to the router to get to the other bridg-group, 40(Vlan 40) on
Fa0/20. Need to hang on the the ACLs so I want to make sure the setup gets
to the router.
