But aren't you forgeting the DLSw reachability information? The MAC addresses t
hat
are reachable via a specific peer are advertised, and stored in the reachabilit
y cache.
When the remote LAN connection drops, wouldn't a DLSw ICannotReach message be
sent?

ps: I would agree though, that having multiple LAN connections when talking to
a
loopback makes more sense (if only from the perspective that you're not achievi
ng
anything when you configure to a loopback with a single LAN interface)
