Congratulations Macky. I would agree with your one day lab experience as
well. I have cleared r/s in two day and security in one day. One clear
difference was I did not have time to drink water which was right in front
of me. You gotta know your stuff cold, period. If you are quick in 90% of
the stuff, you may get some time to look around for couple of odd balls.
Cisco has done great job in maintaining same quality between 2 day and 1 day
lab test.
Congratulations again.

Hi all,
It is finally my turn to write a successful story. I got my CCIE number via
e-mail yesterday after failing my first attempt in March, second attempt in
June and third attempt in September. It is a big blessing from God, for he
has shown his mercy on me. Just read on and you will know what I mean.
I completed all the work with 50mins left, and started checking on my
configuration. Suddenly, one of my router crashed with no reason and started
dumping. I notified the Proctor immediately, but there was only five mins
left on the clock. He told me that there was nothing he could do. If the
router still got my configuration on it, then he will try his best to grade
it, otherwise he had to mark my score as fail. What make thing even worst
was that the crashed router was a 2500. By the time, it had come back up, I
was already walking back to my hotel.
I felt so terrible, as I had put in so much effort, and now I failed because
of a faulty router. I pray to God and hope that he will give me a peaceful
mind and flight back to New Zealand the next day. Praise God, he has
replaced my worst nightmare with the sweetest dream in my life.
I would like to thank you my wife for her great support, and my friend
Brendon for his advice and guidance in preparing the lab exam.
For those who are interested in comparing the exam and the old, here are my
comments. Personally I found the new one-day exam so much harder than the
two-days one. You have to be able to configure 90% of the question, and
there is no time to lookup the CD at all. Again practice is the key to
success. I have spend hundred of hours on my home lab, and make sure I know
the commands well enough to complete all tasks correctly on a wordpad
without the use of a router. Moreover, strong troubleshooting skill is
required. In order to save time, I had tried to type in as much command as I
could before I start testing and fixing your network.
