How to find the best redistribution metric to use

Does anyone have any good tips or links on what's the best metrics to use
when redistributing between protocols? I searched all over and I can't find
any good docs on this. When redistributing rip to ospf it is best to use
the default 30 or something else? How about eigrp to ospf? What's the best
metrics for redistributing to eigrp and igrp, or how best to caclulate?
