We are testing High Availabilty in a 7513 with dual RSP Modules. Testing
shows that it takes over 40 secs for the RSP and all other modules to come
back online when it fails to the Standby RSP. This does not include the
convergence time required with the routing protocols once the router is back
online. When the Active RSP fails, the Second RSP reloads the software and
then brings each module online. I would have expected this time to be much
shorter. Maybe 10 seconds at the most. Has any had experience with this? Am
I expect too much? Are there parameters that I can adjust to decrease the
amount of time for the second one to come online.
Thanks for your help....................
