I'vejust done the 3.1 CIPT course and we asked the instructor the same
question. He checked with Cisco and the advice is that, as of 3.1, it will
run on anything you like, however it will only be supported on a limited
range of IBM, Compaq and Cisco (badged) hardware. He commented at the time
that the policy on this kept changing and that it had changed in the upgrade
from 3.0 to 3.1.
