Hi,

I just passed the CCIE lab yesterday in Brussels (15-10-2001). As this was
my first time I have no way to compare to the 2 day lab. The lab started at
9.00 and finished at 17.30, we had a 30 minute break for lunch.

I got my e-mail today at 12.15 or so. The time between finishing the lab and
getting my results was very unpleasant. When I left I thought that I had a
good chance of passing, but on the way back I went over the lab time and
time again in my head and came up with possible issues that I might have
missed.

My preparation was reading everything I could get my hands on, buying a home
lab (6 * 2500 plus ISDN simulator). The home lab allowed me to practice the
basics at home whenever I wanted it. This is very handy to check up on
things that are not clear. Having been a member of the groupstudy lists was
very valuable as well. Other resources I used were certificationzone,
ccbootcamp labs and rack time, and the CCIE Prep lab from Dimension Data
Learning Solutions (DDLS).

The most important part was all the support I got from my wife and my
friends and collegues. They had faith in me that I could do it.

Cheers,

Willy Schoots
