I remember searching ComputerJobs about a year ago, and I got over 200 hits
on the keyword 'CCIE'
I just searched and got 20 hits - looking at the salaries, they are
definitely lower (some as low as $60000) - a year ago, they were more in the
range of $100K +. Now they seem to be $80K+
I searched an Australia/New Zealand jobs site (www.seek.co.nz) and searched
for only full time positions in the IT sector - I got 30 hits.....and this
is a 25 million consumer market
We saw the flow and now we are in the ebb - this is just economic cycling
and I am sure Cisco will still be strong with the next surge...
In Australia/NZ it still commands a high salary :) relative to cost of
living

I was just being a a bit sarcastic. It seems someone always brings this
topic up every so often, making it discouraging to study. So I was just
trying to add a little humor. You better believe it is hard getting a job
right now, ccie or not. The moving average for new unemployment claims is
at a 10 year high! They are predicting that the unemployment rate will hit
6% or so. So just stay where you are at for now. Thats all
folks...............

Oh really?
I may be looking for a job soon, any suggestions or advice?
Or was I not picking up on your sarcasm?:)
Thanks
