Hi,
The underscore in regular expressions means any delimiter (space, begin, end
etc).
So _1_ means that this route has passed through or originated in AS 1
It would NOT match on routes that went through AS 100 or 65001 but not
through AS 1
You can test your regexp easily by doing a show ip bgp regexp ....
Look at http://www.traceroute.org/#Route%20Servers for route servers with
lots of routes where you can practice
Cheers,

Subject: Regular Expression
Can anyone confirm how the _ (underscore) influences BGP AS paths?
E.g. Does ip as-path access-list 1 permit _1_ allow any AS number in a path
such as 100 or 65001 to be permitted or does _1_ permit any BGP AS path list
with AS 1 at the beginning or end such as 1 100 65001 or 65001 100 1? So
basically does this permit AS path 1, or an AS number containing a 1 within
it?
Hope this is clear.
Thanks,
Eddie.

Hi Group.
IOS doesn't seem to like me lately (12.07T)
a virtual link statement is only partially working
show ip ospf vir(shows its up and happening) - so i tried
Rebooting all the routers, clearing ospf processes etc ...
Nothing worked, just had to remove the command and put it in again,
works
straight away ?
I've experienced similliar things in isdn confguration also.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks.
