Depending on which Supervisor engine you have, you would use a crossover or
straight-through cable. I'm not sure why we did this. Whatever cable you
are using--try the other.

Subject: Console Port on Cat5500 inaccessable

Hello all, I picked up a catalyst switch on ebay... bought it from a guy
in Australlia...

the problem is, the switch looks like it boots up ok, but I'm not
getting anything coming out of the console port.

My console setup works on all my other routers/switches, but not on this
cat5500 (with sup III).

I've tried, 1200,2400,4800,9600, all the way on up.... the session shows
connected, but banging on the return key outputs nothing.

Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks in advance

SM
