All,
Received an email today from Cisco with this link:
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/625/ccie/ccie_program/new_format.html
I found the information on Cisco's web site interesting. A re-read fee? I
wonder how much it costs. The web site does not say.
Other comments:
No cabling - good.
Interface addressing and setup reduced to a minimum - good.
No abilities to conference with the proctor after the exam - bad.
A score report - I remain optimistic, but it will probably be as useful as the
Sylvan score reports.
Troubleshooting throughout the exam - no change for me, I have to troubleshoot
stuff in my home lab all the time while I am doing configurations. It can't
be any worse.
One Day Lab - Time will tell.
Cisco Says -
What should I do if I feel there a problem with the results of the lab?
The proctors marking the exam are highly trained and have a great deal of
experience not only in networking, but also in how to run the CCIE lab exam.
If, however, a candidate wants their test results reviewed, Cisco is offering
a re-reading service. There will be a fee charged for this service, which is
refunded if the re-reading changes the test result from below 20 points to
above 20 points, or from Fail to Pass. To request a re-read of an exam, the
candidate should contact ccie-lab@cisco.com within 14 days of their lab date.
(This service is not available to candidates taking the lab exam before
October 1, 2001.)
Sincerely,
Daniel Krupicka
