Hey folks,

I am preparing for the R&S lab, but lately I've been doing more and more
firewall and VPN stuff and kind of digging it. I am considering going after
the Security CCIE after this. I wonder if anyone on the list has passed
both and can say whether or not the preparation for the R&S lab will benefit
me for the Security lab, or whether I am starting over from ground zero. I
suppose that the question "which is harder" would warrant about a dozen "it
depends" emails, so I won't ask it. Anyway, opinions would be welcome.

By the way, I am not inferring that because I have configured some firewalls
I am Security CCIE material, so please don't let me be the beginning of
another marathon thread. I only want to know whether or not I will have an
advantage having passed the lab already (assuming that I do). Oh, and if
anyone has passed the CCIP (?), which I gather is the equivalent of the CCNP
in security, I would be happy to hear from you.

Last thing- I see that Fred passed the "1 day lab". I don't think I've
heard of that. Has it been discussed here? Maybe I should check the
archive (JK- no hate mail please). Congrats, Fred. Good luck finding what
you want. Was Kathe your proctor? I'm curious how your proctors treated
you with the new format, how well you passed it, and whether or not it was a
positive experience overall (besides passing).

Matt
