Well, it's my turn to write this mail
I passed today in Tokyo at my 2nd attempt
I can't give you more than you've heard from previous ccie
I just want to tell something to everyone who will attemp the lab:
when you go to ccie lab, from hotel or from your home,
tell your self that you will pass today
ccie is like a mental game, you can study everything, you can practice
every scenarios
but if you don't believe that you will pass..than you will fail
When I failed in TS section in Brussels last month,
I knew that I have the ability to become ccie, I only didn't believe that I
could pass
I always had a feeling that ccie is beyond my knowledge
Then I failed, I failed because I didn't believe I could pass..
Then for my 2nd attemp (I was lucky someone dropped his date in Tokyo
so I could take the lab again immediately) , I only did a little
preparation
I told my self everynight that I will pass
I have studied 16 hours a day for the last 4 months, so there is no reason
for me to fail this time
I really enjoyed my last week before I came to Tokyo
Read a little and use bootcamp 1-19 only to remind my finger
(Thanks to Marc Russels for his ccbootcamp, don't attempt ccie lab without
it!)
When I went to CCIE Lab infront of my hotel, I knew I would take full point
for day 1
I told my self that I'm going to have 'just another ccbootcamp scenario'
The power of belief, it's really work!
I get 44 point, only miss 1 point for very very silly mistake
Before morning session in second day begun, I knew I would pass
So I went to troubleshooting with about 66 points, the proctor didn't tell
me exactly
I lost 8 points for misunderstand some concept
and one question that I could not understand at all
It was only 1 hour in TS section, when I realized I have found 14 problems
Then I went to the proctor and asked him to check my work
He asked me to explain all the 14 problems and asked how I found and fixed
it
He checked something in his desk and came back to me and told me that I
just reached 80
well, why continue if you can finish all the nightmare right now?
So I just stopped and asked him my number..
The last 6 months was incredible; study hard, practice scenarios,
sacrifice family and social life, never read anything except ccie related..
Thanks god, I have very kind wife
and kid! I really miss my 3-years old daughter
Without them, I could not go this far..
Proctor in Japan, Ootsuka (I don't know if I write his name correctly,
since
he wrote his name using japanese character!), is very proffesional
He's very fair and helpful, even we have some 'communication problem'
I believe I always have communication problem with most japanese :-)))))
Thanks to Paul for this list
Thanks to everyone in this group who answered my silly questions
I know I can't learn so fast without the presence of the group
Well, it's time to get another cert
it's time for security..
Regards,
Himawan Nugroho, CCIE#8171

ps: Marc , I bought your bootcamp using my manager's credit card, Endrarto,
in case
you didn't find my name in your customer database ;-)
