If you console port is working, and it sounds like it is if you are getting
the startup. Then I would guess you have a code issue or hardware issue. I
believe you can send new code into the router via the console port from the
romon mode. It is slow and a pain to do but if serial connection problems
don't pan out it could be your only hope.

Try a couple things:
1. If using Hyperterm, download the newer one from Hilgraeve. Sometimes
that helps.
2. Try a different console cable and/or adapter.
3. I've had to turn off the FIFO buffers on some PC's advanced serial port
settings.

Subject: Console problem.
1. I have question for the list. My 2620 router's console doesnt take any
input and only gives startup output. I want to solve this problem.
2. Is it possible that I change the NVRAM (like DRAM or Flash SIM) of
router. So i can put it on other 2620 whose console is working well.
Note:
1. Aux also not working because some one changes the configuration register
value to 0x2142. SO
It ignore NVRAM and every time goes on new setup dialog , which is not
shown in Aux port. I have only option which is console.
2. If i use cdp from switch it shows no entry for the router.
Thanks,
Mohsin.
