As long as your IOS in FLASH is good, it doesn't matter what version you are
running in your boot roms; I recall some caveat that really old boot roms
wouldn't recognize 16MB flash, but I use to run 5.2 boot roms and upgraded
to 16MB flash with no problem.

Boot roms are cheap to upgrade, so upgrading wouldn't be a bad idea. I
found them on eBay for $10 per set and upgraded all my 2500's (2503, 2511,
2513, 2514, 2520) to 11.0(10c)XB2 a couple months ago. There might be a
later version now.
