Hi Justin,

I'm also at the point setting up a LAB. I'll focus on the
IP Sec and IOS Firewall stuff in the first step. There the
normal LAB Layout will fitt quite well.

With the PIX Firewalls: I have a kind of Selfmade - PIX
running quite well. I bought an Original Cisco Flash Card
at eBay and plugged it into an Intel Box. All you need are
two Intel NICs and the Setup "Boot from Network" in your
BIOS ... :)
The 16 MB Flash Cards you can buy as a spare Part are said
to have an PIX IOS on them already. This would be an option.

The 515 is a Pentium MMX 200 MHz with a mainboard, that has
flash on the board. The 520 is a "normal" PC with the
ISA Flash Card.

BTW: Does anyone know where to get a Mainboard with enough
Flash or an appropiate ISA Flash Card ???

I think for your Lab you don't have to buy a 525 ... :)
Optimum will be a 515 with 4 NICs and a 506 with it's
two NICs.

IDS are hardware Boxes. Cisco offers special training for
them. I'm not shure how to solve this preparation-problem...

Kind regards,
Boris
