thanks every one who replied my e-mail. I am using ios ver 12.0(16).I
have changed to R1 serial 1 for the config.the exact error message i am
getting is
R1#IP-EIGRP: Neighbor 10.20.1.1 not on common subnet for Serial1.2 but my
10.20.1.1 is configured on ser1.1 of R1.

multicast ping with ser1.2 ip address which is 10.10.1.1, it should use
ser1.1 ip 10.20.1.1. any ideas? does it look like a ios bug?
