Hi group,

I have a question about DLSW+ icanreach. The diagram is shown as below:

                                         DLSW+
        Host 1 -- Token Ring 1 -- R1 --------------------------- R2

The loopback addresses of R1 and R2 are 192.168.100.1 and 192.168.100.2
respectively.

Configuration of DLSW+ of R1:
dlsw local-peer peer-id 192.168.100.1
dlsw remote-peer 0 tcp 192.168.100.2
dlsw icanreach mac-exclusive
dlsw icanreach mac-address 0001.0001.0000 mask 0000.0000.ffff

Configuration of DLSW+ of R2:
dlsw local-peer peer-id 192.168.100.2
dlsw remote-peer 0 tcp 192.168.100.1

My question is that does a host (Host 1) with mac address 1.1.1 on Token
Ring 1 send the explorer frames to R2?
My understanding is since R1 had been configured with icanreach
mac-exclusive, when R1 received explorer frames from Token ring 1, R1 will
neglect this explorer frames.

If my understanding for that is right, how about the same configuration
except no icanreach mac-exclusive command on R1?
Will R1 send explorer frames to R2 when it receives explorer frames from
token ring 1.

Please comment and give me some help.

Many thanks,
Voller
