Adam Quiggle's Implementing Cisco VPNs (Osborne/McGraw-Hill) covers this in
chapter 5 as part of building a multipoint tunnel. With a point-to-point
connection, it's easy to know where the next hop is. But with a multipoint
network over, say, frame relay, the next hop isn't inherently known. NHRP
allows for a way of keeping track of the next hop.

Does anyone know of a white paper on CCO or a chapter of a book to recommend
about NHRP? I've been reading the configuration guide on the CD and the
examples are really weak. I guess I'm having trouble understanding why I
would want to use this in the first place.
