Instead of buying a WS-X5225R blade, which will cost you $1000 on eBay, you
could buy a 12-port WS-X5203 or WS-X5213A for around $300.

Better yet, don't beef up your Cat 5000; instead, buy a Cat. 2924-XL-EN
($700) which has all 10/100 ports. You can connect the smaller switch to
all your 10Mbps routers, and practice VTP domain server-client
relationships, FastEtherChannel, etc. between the two switches.
