Matt,

This is our life, you go find another list if this life isn't for you.

About the time to "calculate the rate per month". All the groupstudy
messages are dated. Most of the members post a message when they get their
CCIE number.

You might not be able to do the high math because you are so busy, but I
believe the following will work.

CCIE# and Date from Older Message =number1,date1

CCIE# and Date from Newer Message=number2,date2

Rate=(number2-number1)/(date2-date1)

Should take about a minute or two to look up two messages and crunch the
numbers.

And Lastly, about the True "That is irrevelevant if the exam has not become
easier" Statement. If the number of test takers double and the pass rate
per test doesn't drop by half. They we WILL have a higher total pass rate
per month.

Where

T=test takers
P=Pass rate

Thus,

going from

Total/month=T*P

to

Total/month=2T*P

I feel sorry for the first one day takers, because Cisco will try (but fail)
to prove the new pass rate is closer to P/2. Of course the pass rate will
creep back up as the study groups gear up for new test. Thus, over the long
term the pass rate will probably stay the same or drop just a bit. Doesn't
matter thought because the number of test takers has doubled.

Hence more CCIE's and lower salaries than had they stayed with the two day
format.

Don't know about you but the "a lower salary over my lifetime" issue, is
important to me.

P.S. Sorry if I was a little hard on you, but some very serious people
follow these numbers at Cisco, I believe it's in our best interest to also
follow these numbers.

One more thing, The bean counters in this economy, will be looking for a
reason to pay less. Oh, you only passed the one day lab? hmmm....
