I've noticed that even when I have an ISDN connection active, and I can pass
traffic over the link, I have a problem.
I only can ping the far(remote) end ip and not the near(local) end ip.
In other words, If the BRI0 interface is 10.252.32.2 and the remote end is
10.252.32.1, I only can ping 10.252.32.2 with the connection up.
Also with the connection down, and with the bri0 is spoofing, local pings
still don't work to 10.252.32.2. Guess they don't mean layer three spoofing.
Any ideas? Continued at bottom of page.

BRI0 is up, line protocol is up (spoofing)

Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 10.252.32.1, timeout is 2 seconds:

Success rate is 0 percent (0/5)

Just to muddy the waters some more, I've notice the same behaviors with GRE
tunnels. With a tunnel up & up, completely functional, still can't ping the
near interface, but can ping the far end interface.
Am I missing something? Or am I just screwed if the lab me asks to ping every
interface including the near ends of BRI interfaces or GRE tunnels?
