Subject: "Terminal monitor" not working

I'm running debug commands, but only can view the output if I'm on the
console.
I'm not able to view it during a telnet session, even though I've used the
"terminal monitor" command.
Does anyone have a suggestion? I've never had this problem before. Terminal
monitor always does it.
I'm running 12.2 on a 2514

2514(config)#int e0
2514(config-if)#no ip route-cache
2514(config-if)#^Z
2514#
2514#term monitor
2514#s deb
Generic IP:
IP packet debugging is on (detailed)
2514#ping www.yahoo.com
Translating "www.yahoo.com"...domain server (167.206.112.4) [OK]

Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 64.58.76.179, timeout is 2 seconds:
!!!!!
Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 20/26/44 ms
2514#

No logging info follows like it usually does.
