Redistribution of Backbone network

Hi,

Without redistributing Rip to EIGRP, Rip network (Backbone) appears in EIGRP
and other ospf routers, due to both networks are having same major network
numbers. Is it still required to redistribute rip? I understand that if
there is any other network in the RIP backbone will not appear. As we can
ping all interfaces (practice labs) without redistributing rip, I feel it is
not required to redistribute RIP.

Could some one tell me the correct way.
