Is it a protocol operating on the IOS versions you are held responsible for?
;->

NHRP = next hop resolution protocol

I first ran across this in Adam Quiggle's VPN book ( worth picking up,
BTW ), used in conjunction with point to multipoint GRE tunnels. never could
get it to work. A bit convoluted and complex. have to configure things like
NHRP servers, and all kinds of stuff.

I see from the config guides on CCO that there are a number of applications,
including IPX. Might be worth looking into a bit more deeply, if only for
curiousity sake.

definitely watch this wrap!

We have some other methods for IP/IPX to NBMA address mapping, and they are
really working well. What is the really benefit or future for this
protocol? Any comment are welcome.

Has anyone used this protocol in a production network? Is it in the scope
of lab exam?
