Gentlemen and or Ladies,
Has anyone ever had an issue with the area range command not functioning for
the summarization of loopback addresses into class Cs? Results of a show ip
ospf command show the area command is being used but is in a passive state?
The router is a 2503 running 12.09 code. I have to eventually redistribute
the loopback IP address into an IGRP AS and need to force the /32 route
introduced by the default behavior of OSPF with Loopback interfaces into a
/24. So far the only work around I have found is to use the ip ospf network
point-to-point command to force the router to treat the loopback as a p2p
interface but this is not a great solution. With the area comman I would be
able to summarize it into and mask irregardless of the configured mask. Any
help is appreciated.
