using "atm ilmi-pvc-discovery" to automatically map to VPI 5 based on
just using ATM sub-interface ATM0/0.5

Subject: LS1010 Configuration
All,
After several hours of wrestling with this (and getting some great
troubleshooting practice!), I thought I'd ask the group for help here.
This is my first experience using an LS1010,and at present I want to use
it
as a switch between two routers with ATM interfaces.
I will not post all the configs I've gone through in the last few
hours,but
suffice to say that I have seen the PVCs come up, but I have not been
able
to ping between the interfaces, addresses 194.1.1.1 and 194.1.1.2. Both
show a direct connection to 194.1.1.0 through the ATM interface.
I'm looking for two things, really -- first, a hint as to why I can't
get
that ping to go through. It may be a little fatigue setting in as to
why I
can't see the reason, so be kind when you point it out. :)
Also, what would be your preferred method of making this connection? I
tried configuring PVCs on the switch, the router, etc. And if you have
any
white papers, etc. that you would recommend on ATM or the LS1010, that
would
be great. ATM is about the only topic that is giving me trouble right
now,
and I could use the help.
Thanks for taking the time to read this!
