When you come up with your config register set to 2101, you come to a ROM
based IOS, --that is very crippled, not capable of doing IP routing.
However with that you can recover with "copy tftp flash." --And if you
don't have a TFTP server, --you make one out of another router. At a
router that has a good image, you put in "tftp-server flash
<his-file-in-flash>" and if you give each device a valid IP
address, --across say a back to back Ethernet or thru a hub and you can
recover this way.

Subject: Recovery from corrupt image ... HELP!!!

I have a 2504 router with the flash erased.

It is bootstrapping from ROM.

ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 11.0(10c)XB1, PLATFORM SPECIFIC RELEASE
SOFTWARE
(fc1)

I have tried doing a config reg 0x2102 or 0x2101

THERE IS NO COPY FLASH/TFTP/XMODEM etc......

When I do a boot from my TFTP server it bombs.
