As you all should know, nobody here would be studying for CCIE or even have
jobs in the tech field if so much of the Internet traffic was not porn, ads,
junk mail etc, online gambling, E-Stock trading, games, chat rooms etc. You
think if the Internet was still a government and college experiment that
CCIE's would be in demand? It is marketing that drives the Internet and
keeps us with jobs. Marketing is everywhere and it drives the economy. How
many people here spend hours of your time complaining and sending mail about
the Junk Mail you get in your postal box? How many people sit here are
active in reducing billboards that ruin scenic places - yet everyone flips
out because they have to hit the friggen delete key on the keyboard! It is
the bandwidth required to get your junk email to your box that makes you
have a JOB!!!! I guarantee a majority of everyone here works for a company
that does what a company does (makes money by selling stuff). Go and tell
your boss you don't think he should advertise and see how long your in
demand then...
Nate

My point is that if companies are paying for advertising emails there should
be a notification that this email " Is a paid advertisment of the Joe
Company" and to whom the proceeds go. That way there are no UCC violation
questions if it pertains to email advertising. Again RIP and not the
protocol. Free speak and the spirit of the Internet will prevail. (i hope)
