Good afternoon
I am trying to simulate different WAN bandwidths with my current Cisco lab
gear - for real life application testing. Here is what I am doing:
Ethernet-----[R1]------FR----[R2(Frame Relay
Switch)]-----FR-----[R3]-----Ethernet
R1 and R3 (DTE devices) limit bandwidth with Frame Relay traffic shaping
(Frame-Relay Traffic-Rate command)
R2 (DCE Device) limits bandwidth via the clock rate setting.
Does anyone have any insight into the effectivness of this in a lab. I know I
am not simulating delay or congestion - I don't know how to do with available
hardware. (My available hardware consists of 2500s, 2600s, MC3810s, and
4000s). Does anyone have any better ideas?
TIA
