Hey Group,
I have a small situation where I have a couple of modems using the Aux ports
for DDR. I set both the Async interfaces as ospf demand circuits, but R4
keeps dialing R3. From what I can tell, one of the interfaces is not
"spoofing" up, so when the interface goes down (idle timeout) the
dead-interval passes, it flushes the routes from the routing table and the
neighbor relationship is removed. The routes show up in the ospf database
with (DNA), but won't appear in the routing table because the Async
interface is down. So, anyone know why one interface is showing (R4)
"Async65 is up (spoofing), line protocol is up (spoofing)" while the other
is showing (R3) "Async65 is down, line protocol is down " when there is no
active call? Configs for the interfaces are as follows:
R3
interface Async65
description 2227
ip address 148.10.12.2 255.255.255.252
no ip directed-broadcast
encapsulation ppp
ip ospf demand-circuit
dialer in-band
dialer idle-timeout 30
dialer string 2226
dialer-group 1
async default routing
async dynamic routing
async mode dedicated
ppp chap hostname R3
ppp chap password 7 110A1016141D
interface Async65
description 2226
ip address 148.10.12.1 255.255.255.252
no ip directed-broadcast
encapsulation ppp
ip ospf interface-retry 0
ip ospf demand-circuit
dialer in-band
dialer idle-timeout 30
dialer string 2227
